Medical Billing / Order Entry (Level I)
Laboratory Billing Solutions was founded by laboratory executives and software developers for the purpose of helping hospitals, independent laboratories, and physician groups to optimize and grow their business. Billing and claims processing is our major focus, using the very latest in systems software and process control. Continued growth has created the need for us to hire new Medical Billing / Order Entry (Level I). We currently have full & part time positions available with flexible work schedules. After completing training (30+/- days) at our Chesapeake VA facility and proving the ability to work independently; employees will have the opportunity to telecommute if desired. The employee must be able to provide a quiet, safe home office space and high speed Internet connection via cable or DSL to be considered for this “work from home” opportunity.

Job Description
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Enters alphabetic, numeric or symbolic data from source documents into computer following format displayed on screens, and enters necessary codes in a consistent and timely manner
• Maintains data standards, including adherence to HIPAA
• Verifies recorded information to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
• Identifies and corrects errors
• Keeps record of work hours completed
• Operates computers and office equipment
• Performs additional functions incidental to data entry activities

Requirements
Candidates should possess the following skills and/or achievements:
• Ability & discipline to work independently
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as computer hardware and software operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
• Good knowledge of PC operations and software (Microsoft programs) are required.
• Excellent typing skills
• Must be extremely detail oriented and organized
• High-energy, focused individual with a desire to become an integral part in meeting and exceeding our team goals

Experience / Education
• Prior data entry & posting experience or knowledge in medical billing is required
• High school level education or equivalent
